The Community Center building is
available, for a nominal rental, to all citizens, especially residents of Sky
Valley. Some of our recent users
include:
·
The Sky Valley Community Council, an advisory panel to Riverside County
Supervisor John Benoit, meets at the Center at 6 pm second Tuesdays, in
January, March, May, September, and November.
The council also advises County Service Area 104, which maintains the
roads in Sky Valley. See the county's
council web page HERE.
·
The Sky Valley Homeowners Association is an informal Citizens’ Advocacy
group dedicated to preserving Sky Valley’s peaceful rural lifestyle. The association meets at the Center at 7 pm
third Thursdays, in January, March, May, September, and November. See its website HERE.
·
F.I.N.D. (Food In
Need of Distribution) reserves the Center first Wednesday afternoons for food
distribution. Each event is contingent
on F.I.N.D. having donations to support it.
Learn more about F.I.N.D HERE.
·
The Riverside County Library Bookmobile visits the Center Tuesdays from
3:45 to 4:30 pm. You can visit the
Library’s website HERE.
·
The Sky Valley Emergency Team (SVET) works quietly in the background to
keep Sky Valley prepared for an area emergency.
SVET was instrumental in the Center’s acquiring the emergency generator
that will keep the building usable in the event of an area emergency. They have met at the center at various
times. To learn more about
SVET, call Bill Hall at 760-329-9593.
·
Sky Valley’s Citizens on Patrol (COP) is a small group of dedicated drivers who
patrol our streets looking for anything suspicious, and who have met at the
Center at various times. COP needs drivers,
and interested people should contact Sgt. Dan Devinny at 760-836-1742.
